The Student Equity in Higher Education Evaluation Framework (SEHEEF) includes a Program Logic Model (PLM) for the Higher Education Participation and Partnerships Program (the ‘Master’ porgram logic), and recommends program logics be designed specifically for individual HEPPP-funded programs “to promote a shared understanding of how HEPPP funding will be used to design the program’s activities, and the changes that are expected through their implementation.”

These PowerPoint templates for program-level PLMs, provided by Equity by Design, will help universities in developing models for their equity programs.

PLMs are an example of how we can take something large and sometimes complex and condense it down to its parts. They help identify the causal pathway and the intended outcomes for programs (important for Continuous Quality Improvement activity and in planning for Impact Evaluations), and provide a high-level snapshot of how we expect each activity to eventually lead to impact, in a format suitable for all audiences – practitioners, managers, vice chancellors and students to name a few.
